Rental terms and conditions
Effective 21 October 2026
These are the rental terms of TEAMON Car Rental, operated by TEAMON TRADING. They form part of the rental agreement you sign when you collect the car. This English version is a translation; if there is any difference, the Bahasa Melayu version applies.
1. Rental requirements
The renter must:
- Be 18 years old or above.
- Hold a valid Class D driving licence in their own name. First-time renters send a photo of their driving licence and IC or passport for verification.
- Not allow anyone else to drive the rented car. The registered renter is fully responsible for any problem with the car.
- Inform the company or its representative of any problem with the car.
- Pay all summonses, costs and damage caused to the car.
- Take good care of the car as if it were their own.
- Not take the car out of Malaysia.
- Inform us of any rental extension at least 4 hours or one day in advance.
- Avoid summonses, fines or compounds from any authority.
2. Rental period and mileage
- Minimum rental of 1 day (24 hours).
- After the first day: 1 to 7 hours are charged at the hourly rate, 8 to 12 hours at the half-day rate, and more than 12 hours as a full day. Late returns are charged the same way. Rates differ by car type.
- A 1-day rental includes up to 500 km. Rentals of 2 days or more have no mileage limit. Going over the limit adds a 1-day charge.
3. Payment
- Bookings by WhatsApp, SMS or phone require a booking deposit of at least RM50, or full payment. The deposit is deducted from the rental total.
- Full payment (rental, security deposit or CDW, delivery and other charges) is due before you receive the keys.
- The security deposit is accepted in cash (Ringgit Malaysia) or by bank transfer or online payment. Other forms are not accepted.
- To extend the rental, payment must be made before 12:00 midnight each day.
- If payment is not made within 24 hours, the car may be taken back. Related costs such as fuel, tolls, fares and time are borne by the renter or guarantor.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before your pickup time and the booking deposit is refunded. Cancellations less than 24 hours before pickup forfeit the booking deposit. See our refund and cancellation policy.
- The security deposit is refunded within 3 to 7 working days if there are no issues.
4. Security deposit or CDW (choose one)
- Security deposit: refunded after the car is returned in good condition, clean and on time. Extra charges (late return, fuel, cleaning, damage, fines) are deducted from the deposit.
- CDW (damage waiver): non-refundable. Covers new scratches and dents, flat tyres (including nails or sharp objects), accidental glass breakage, and minor accidents not caused by gross negligence.
- CDW does not cover accidents caused by gross negligence or reckless driving, criminal or customs cases, interior damage, or summonses, fines and compounds.
- CDW rate: full rate on the first day; half rate from the second day, rounded down to the nearest RM10.
5. Office hours, delivery and return
- Office hours: 9am to 9pm. Collecting or returning the car at our office within these hours is free of charge.
- Collecting or returning the car at our office outside office hours: RM30, subject to staff availability.
- Delivery and collection at your location: 10am to 6pm. Around Sungai Petani RM30 to RM50 (both ways). Other areas are charged by location and confirmed before booking.
- Delivery after 6pm: delivery charge plus RM30. No delivery before 10am.
- Delivery and collection depend on runner availability. Requests may be declined when fully booked.
- During festive seasons, public holidays and school holidays, delivery and collection may be unavailable and delivery charges may change.
6. Fuel
- Return the car with the same fuel level as when you received it.
- Otherwise RM10 per bar, or the set rate, is charged.
7. No smoking or alcohol
- Alcohol may not be carried or consumed in the car. Minimum penalty RM100 for each item found or if there is a smell of alcohol.
- No smoking in the car. Minimum penalty RM50 if there is a smell of cigarette smoke or signs of smoking.
8. Cleanliness
- Minimum penalty RM50 if the car smells bad or is soiled by food, drinks, mould, faeces, rubbish or raw materials.
9. Safety and crime
- The car may not be used for any criminal, illegal or immoral activity. The company will not compromise, will take legal action and will report to the authorities.
10. Summonses and compounds
- The renter is fully responsible for all summonses, fines and compounds, including from PDRM, JPJ, local councils, strata building JMBs and any related company or agency.
- Failure to pay a summons may result in blacklisting and legal action.
11. Vehicle damage
- The company is only responsible for mechanical faults.
- Repair costs for damage caused by the renter's negligence are borne by the renter.
- Before receiving the car, make sure our staff photograph the car (inside and out), complete the rental agreement and explain the rental terms.
- Renters who choose the security deposit (without CDW) bear: flat tyres caused by nails or sharp objects, accident damage, and losses from criminal activity or breach of the rental agreement.
- For insurance claims: insurance excess from RM400 (varies by workshop), plus the car's monthly instalment if it is at the workshop for a month or more.
12. Accidents
- Do not panic. Contact the company first before making a police report or any decision.
- If an accident is caused by the renter's negligence, all repair costs are borne by the renter (except what CDW covers).
Conclusion
The car must be returned in the same condition as when it was received. Thank you for renting with us.
